I was on my way to a clients house when a text came in. It was this face with a message saying time to start back up.
Then I realized that I start him very soon!! Early September to be exact. Grizzly has always been one of my favorite. I'm very very excited that I get to see him again. It's been about 3+ months since I've seen that face so it made me very happy. 😊
Recently while at the dog park someone asked me. What's the wildest pet I'm currently taking care of? I didn't really have an answer. I don't really take care of a lot of wild and crazy pets. I definitely get to take care of some different pets though. Ones that aren't your common cat, dog, or fish. Sometimes I'll get a snake, hamster or a bird. I rarely get any bird clients. That changed as of a month ago. I have a new client that has a dog and two beautiful periots. The dog is a sweet pup name Hank. I will talk more about him down the road. The periots names are Ray and Puka. Puka likes me allot. She quickly decided that I was going to be her buddy. I found out that she doesn't let everyone be her friend. I felt honored to get her trust. She likes me so much that she never wants to leave my shoulder. This is something I'm working with her on. By that I mean I'm taking her to the other room to bring her off my shoulder. If I try to do it in front of the cage she lets me no she's not budging.
She also has a companion bird named Ray with her. Ray was a little shy at first with me. He did figure it out fast though. Now he super sweet with me every time I open up the door to the cage. I've discovered he loves being wherever Puka is. She likes me so therefore he has to except me being in the pictures. I bring him wherever we go. No one likes to be left behind when fun is to be had. 😄. Example I'm trying to get Puka to do her little trick she can do. She's a hell of a jumper. While I'm trying to get her to perform (she doesn't 😕). You can clearly hear him in the background in the cage whistling at us. He wants to be with his girl friend. 😊
Then once I brought out the perch for them Ray warmed up fast. This past weekend he was very nice to me. Hopefully this is the beginning of full trust with him. I do no though that Ray can be grumpy. So full trust will more than likely never happen. Saturday I let him hop onto my shoulder. Then I quickly thought "hmm maybe I don't do that again."😄 Ray has great communication for a bird. What I mean by that is he's very easy to read. If he's on my shoulder I lose the ability to know what's going on with him. Silly birds😜
