We've lost the King

Boy King

Boy King

Today's a very sad day. I lost a big sweet friend. One that I'm going to miss allot. King was a giant malamute with a sweet heart. He loved all the people in his life. He made me laugh every time I saw him. I'll never know a bigger fluffier  hug then the one I would give to the king. While he was only a couple years old. He made a big impression on the people in his world. I'm glad I was one of those people. Link to his baby pictures below the video.

Good times with my buddy.

Lost & found

Sweet and cute Ellie.

Sweet and cute Ellie.

Hey everybody I'm sorry I haven't done many blogs lately. I just haven't really had anything major going on worth creating one for. Then the adventures of Ellie happened. One of my clients was just about to go on a trip. This happend at the exact same time that her mother was going to move in for a bit. She has two dogs that she was bringing with her. They already have three dogs in the house. Ellie likes and enjoys the three dogs. I felt with adding the two extra dogs and the client being away.  I knew this was a super super bad idea. I mentioned little tips to help. Things I mentioned to help with this particular situatuon wherent done😑.  I came in on Friday of last week. I saw no sign of her anywhere.  I was immediately concerned and worried. I asked many times if they knew if things were going well at the house. I didn't get any answers that told me otherwise. Then Monday I get told that she hasn't been seen since Thursday night. The client was gone and I was concerned that the proper things that needed to be done immediately we're not going to be done. I took it upon myself to put her up on Facebook rescue. Then put a post on craigslist under lost and found. I also spent two hours after work on Monday walking around the neighborhood talking to people giving them my phone number in case she turned up. Now that night I get a text telling me one of the neighbors saw her. I was so excited!! because it meant she was still around. I went back to do a walk the following Tuesday. On my way back I see a cat in the bushes in the shade and I immediately see Her face.   I am over-the-top excited!!  I walk up to her… It's not her😩it's a cat that looks exactly like her from afar.  Maybe I so badly wanted to see her that I read into the situation a little bit. It was hands-down one of the toughest moments for me. So again at this point no sign of her. One major thing that I am hesitant to bring up. I spoke to a woman on the day I walked and talked to the neighbors.  She gave off some majore suspicion.  I asked her if she had the cat. I shouldn't have but at this point I was a bit desperate.  I want to see Ellie's  face again. I would never have accused or asked anyone if they took her.   But!! she was saying some super crazy and strange things.   I had to ask. The words maybe she would be better off with another home came out of her mouth.  As far as this person knew this was my cat. Why would you say that to the owner. So I asked the question that some say I shouldn't have asked.   She took offense as anyone probably would have. Now at this point many days has gone by and I was losing all hope. The client got home and took over looking for her. Tonight on their way out the door they see Ellie sitting on the porch ready to come in. They texted me and I immediately went over. They didn't seem too happy with me coming over at that moment. I didn't care I want to see Her and I did. In my mind I wanted her to leap in my arms when I walked in the room. It didn't play out as I wanted it to.  She was scared growling and hissing. She was clearly not in a good place. The client was just about to walk out for the prior engagement. The mother was keeping the dogs attention in the other room. I spent a good hour with her trying to calm her down. I also gave her a little bed area that she was very happy with. I sat for a while and watched her fall asleep in front of me. No more growling no more fear. She was ready to sleep off the crazy adventure she just had. OK now here's where things get a little bizarre. I come home and make dinner. I get a phone call from a number that has no caller ID. A very young voice says he saw her running out of a house. Here's the crazy thing he says he was on a Street that is nowhere near where Ellie lives. He also sounded very scared. He said some other things that made absolutely no sense. He said nobody was staying at the house where she came out of. He said that right after he said he saw the person open the front door and she ran out. Again all of this taking place at a house miles and miles... and miles away. None of it made sense!!  I knew something was clearly not right with the phone call. Honestly I didn't care she was home and safe. It was a bizarre ending to the story though.  Bottom line is she is she was definitely taken. Who took her who knows who cares. She's home.

oh and I wanted to have a final update on the Bassett I helped rescue. She is happy and healthy and has found a new home. Thanks to the great people at Arf.

Rain went away now let's have some fun!!

Now that the sky's are blue again... Or off blue sometimes smoggy grey. You get what I'm saying!! It's time for something new and fun. I've started to do random daily periscopes. Periscope lets you video moments of your day. While others can watch and even send you a comment or two. I've been testing it out and it's fun. The quality of the video could be better at time. I do fined using clients wifi very helpful for fixing that issue. Please please if you want to be apart of it. Then let me know your wifi info when you can. I'm 100% sure your dog will be apart of the fun😬. I have some demo videos up now with

Martini

Zeues & Jade (of course)

Emmy

Pixie

with more to come. They'll all be short and sweet. One thing I've taken away from watching periscope is how boring it can be if you don't know when to leave. I make it short and sweet. I say hi and maybe throw out a update on the animal I'm with. Then I'm out!  all videos will have the animals name first.

Oh!! One thing I forgot to mention about the Periscope videos. They go away after 24 hours so check in often as they will definitely go away. I just had six or seven go away just now.  it reminded me🙂

Rain Rain go away..

The sun beats me up so bad over the summer. It makes me use a silly looking unberella. An unberella that I had to retire for a snazzy new pro uv protection version. I'm making a funny video about that soon. When the rain comes I get so happy!  Now I'm officially done with my love for the rain. We finally got enough and I'm ready for a break. This is my buddy Zues waiting with me for the rain to go away so we can go for a walk.

image.jpg

Good news about are recent rain is it goes away pretty fast. While Zues is giving me the sad face.  I quickly made it up to him with dinner and a walk with his girlfriend Jade.

Not allot else is going on new. Martini is growing fast and has a good amount of my attention. She's also been getting some much needed training. We are all trying to work on her walking on a leash issues. She's a great pup though. With Tucker out of my life for a bit. Due to his owner on maternity leave. Martini is quickly trying to become my new number one favorite. Just don't tell tucker😄

Then

Then

Now

Now

Don't blink she'll be full grown in no time.

As promised

Here's the little video I finally got around to finishing.

 Pixie was rescued from http://www.milofoundation.org

Martini was rescued from family dog rescue. A great video about them can be found below.

Blog update… I'm sorry

Sorry everybody I've been meaning to write an update to the blog for awhile. Christmas time was a little nuts so I took a break from it. I was then expecting to get back to writing updates on a regular basis in January. It just wasn't happening and I apologize. I will also be doing a more regular...hopefully weekly update as well.  I'll going into more details of some of my adventures. First thing to bring up is that I know I mentioned surprise change that was coming. After researching and speaking with some people I decided I'm not going to do this new thing... Yet. I'm not going to go into any detail right now. I'm going to leave it as a possible future surprise.

Below is a video that I took about six months working on to make. It's staring Jade, Vega and my big goofball buddy Zeus. I'm very happy how it came out. I'm in love with my new iPad Pro it made this video extremely easy and possible to make.

Pictures from the video in hd. Also different sizes for your wallpaper😬

Martini!!

I have a new furry friend and her name is Martini. She was a rescue pup from    http://www.ilovefamilydog.org .  I wasn't looking to take on a new puppy.  I was very busy at at the time and  wasn't sure if it would work out. As you all know. Once I take you on as a client. I'm all in for what ever you need from me. For that reason I was worried about committing. After speaking with her mom and dad. I decided I wanted to help. I decided that I would work it out. They've been great with working with me and my schedule.  I'm glad I decided to take her on because she's wonderful. She's obviously very very cute. I'm glad I get to be a part of her life now. Plus it gives Pixie a new friend. I have a new video of them that I'm working on now. I will post as soon as I can.

Changes are coming

Lots of things are changing for me. I lose my buddy Rex and Andy at the end of the month. That's when tucker becomes my new number one favorite!🎉😜. Reminds me I had a short break from Tucker and Greta. They're back now though. I was very happy to see them again. I started Grizzly back up last week. He's getting to be a big pup. I started to walk Pixie with him during my return visits. I thought he would enjoy having a visitor. Boy has he!  I do have some  concerns with how big he is compared to little pixie. They're different types of dogs to walk. I feel I could hurt myself while walking them. I don't see walking them both at the same time a long term thing. I'm still assessing things. I would love to have it work out as they both really like each other.  A couple weeks ago I started a new chihuahua named Chichi. He was abandoned and left in my clients neighbors yard. They just lost their dog and wasn't looking for another. That changed fast as they fell in love with cheech. I started taking him to the dog park with one of my regulars Zohie. Zohie's one of the dogs I label the perfect pup. What I mean by that is she's perfect for any situation. She's sweet, not aggressive, friendly with other pups, trusting etc.  Chichi who's a big scardy dog trusts Zohie. I'm not surprised as all dogs who get to know Zohie become buddy's with her. He lets her walk up to other dogs. Then when it goes well he comes over. Zohie is his Toe in the pool. When the water's fine he jumps in.😄.  I spent the night over at Casey's house. It was a pretty sad first night back. Forteen years of taking care of that sweet pup. Then going through the nightly routines with out him was tough. One of the toughest parts of the job is losing a friend.😑

Grizzly is back!!

Tucker's cute😃

Sorry I haven't posted much in the last couple weeks. Things have been slow and I love it!! Mark needs some rest😴. Today was a great day and I wanted to share it!  Many years ago I met a very cute German Shepard named Sophie. I saw her five days a week for years. Right off the bat she become one of my favorites. Eventually she moved away. I feel like I've told this kind of story before😄. She had a great companion named tawny. He was a sweet boy with allot of personality. I had some of the most fun on their walks. Here's me and Sophy sneaking up on some turtles. Look at the rock closest to us.

Sophie is a very lucky pup. Her sister Brenah has always been in her life.  They're very close pups.

When I visited Sophie today I found out that she moved in right across from her sister. They now get to see each other every day. Brenah belongs to my clients daughter. I also found out that Brenah's owner rescued two pups. I met them this morning. One of the pups she rescued is missing her bottom jaw. At first it was a little jarring to see.

People who take in pups like Ren are saints.

People who take in pups like Ren are saints.

I don't have any pictures of the second dog Izzy. She's the other rescue. She's....... Well she's not overly social to put it bluntly. She became a big instigater of crazyness and spent a bit of time by herself. One thing about my buddy Sophie. If she hears any barking or a person outside. She emedietly starts barking at the window. Izzy would constantly get Sophie going. I was so happy to spend time With my favorite girl (Sophie). She has a special place with me. It's been crushing me that it took so long to visit. I Had a nice time chating with my former client. While also getting plenty of time with Sophie and Brenah. Today was a good day =)

She's filled out a bit but still as cute as ever.

Brenah is a sweet girl who has a beautiful relationship with her sister. Watching them together would put a smile on your face.

What a face😊

What a face😊

I promised to see my buddy Sophie allot sooner next time. I'm going to keep that promise.

I promised to see my buddy Sophie allot sooner next time. I'm going to keep that promise.

Some fun back in the day with tawny. I'll miss him allot.

Was one of her favorite balls. It was eventually put to rest. 😄

Grizzly is back....soon😀

I was on my way to a clients house when a text came in. It was this face with a message saying time to start back up.

So Cute!!!

So Cute!!!

Then I realized that I start him very soon!! Early September to be exact.  Grizzly has always been one of my favorite.  I'm very very excited that I get to see him again. It's been about 3+ months since I've seen that face so it made me very happy. 😊

Recently while at the dog park someone asked me. What's the wildest pet I'm currently taking care of?  I didn't really have an answer. I don't really take care of a lot of wild and crazy pets. I definitely get to take care of some different pets though.  Ones that aren't your common cat, dog, or fish. Sometimes I'll get a snake, hamster or a bird. I rarely get any bird clients. That changed as of a month ago. I have a new client that has a dog and two beautiful periots.  The dog is a sweet pup name Hank. I will talk more about him down the road. The periots names are Ray and Puka. Puka likes me allot.  She quickly decided that I was going to be her buddy.  I found out that she doesn't let everyone be her friend. I felt honored to get her trust. She likes me so much that she never wants to leave my shoulder. This is something I'm working with her on. By that I mean I'm taking her to the other room to bring her off my shoulder. If I try to do it in front of the cage she lets me no she's not budging.

She likes being on camera 😀

She likes being on camera 😀

She also has a companion bird named Ray with her. Ray was a little shy at first with me. He did  figure it out fast though.  Now he super sweet with me every time I open up the door to the cage. I've discovered he loves being wherever Puka is. She likes me so therefore he has to except me being in the pictures.  I bring him wherever we go. No one likes to be left behind when fun is to be had. 😄. Example I'm trying to get Puka to do her little trick she can do. She's a hell of a jumper. While I'm trying to get her to perform (she doesn't 😕). You can clearly hear him in the background in the cage whistling at us. He wants to be with his girl friend. 😊

Then once I brought out the perch for them Ray warmed up fast. This past weekend he was very nice to me. Hopefully this is the beginning of full trust with him. I do no though that Ray can be grumpy. So full trust will more than likely never happen. Saturday I let him hop onto my shoulder. Then I quickly thought "hmm maybe I don't do that again."😄 Ray has great communication for a bird. What I mean by that is he's very easy to read. If he's on my shoulder I lose the ability to know what's going on with him. Silly birds😜

Sad loss this week.

I lost a friend this week. His name was Casey and he was one of my favorites.  He came in as a happy energetic puppy. He also had the honor of being best buddy's with my all time favorite Cesar. He passed a few years into Casey's life. Casey was then given the gift of a great new friend in Jazzy after Cesar's passing. Casey was a laid back sweet pup. He loved all the people in his life. He was also a great companion to Jazzy.  Duke (aka crazy boy!) on the other hand he had a rough relationship with. At the end duke become his biggest helper and worst enemy. What I mean by that is dukes intensity went to jazzy at the perfect time.  Casey was slowing down and  wanted nothing more than to eat, sleep, and poop. Oh! And he loved spending time with his people of course. I consider myself on of his people.  He was hands down one of the most beautiful animals I've had the pleasure to take care of. He had a coat that most pups would wish for. If they new how to wish 😁. I'm so happy I was a part of his life.  I took care of him for over fourteen and a half years of life. I'll miss my furry friend...

Rex's Replacment at the top

After learning that I'm losing Rex my #1 favorite. I decided that a new number one needs to be crowned. The dog that is the tops of marks favorites list.

List of must haves:

1.Must make me laugh on a regular basis.

2.Must come up with creative new things to keep me on my toes. Good or bad it keeps things interesting😜

3. Must have a great personality. Cuteness can also fall into this requirement area but is not necessary. Personality is everything!  The cats and dogs I remember ten or twenty years down the road are the ones that have interesting personalitys.

4. This one is my personal most important. Must really enjoy time with me. While most dogs love seeing me. I do have a select few who are scardy dogs or cats. A good example of that is the cute picture of the month dog Walter shown at the bottom.  The ones I'm taking about Are the ones who lose their mind when I walk in the door. Those animals are emedietly in the running for mark's favorites list😃.

The winner is..

Tucker!!

Tucker!!

Now don't get me wrong. I enjoy my time with all the wonderful animals I have the honer of  spending time with. Some just stand out though for what ever reason. Tucker is fun and always up to shananagins.

Proof!!

Proof!!

He's cute and sweet and loves his time with me😁  He has a very shy pup companion named Greta. She's a a sweet girl that enjoys having Tucker as a brother.

Now this won't be official until Rex leaves of course 😜

The great Rex!

The great Rex!

When he does Tucker will fill that role. As many a Tucker tale will be told.

Oh and As always I end a post with the cute pup of the week. This one goes to my buddy Walter. As I mentioned above he's very shy with me.  I rarely see smiles from him just frowns😕. When I got this picture it made me smile. Once in awhile I see the other side of Walter. That side being a playful happy pup! First time I saw it was when one of the clients grandperant came over. Walter went nuts in excitement for him!!  I'm fine with not being Walters favorite. I'm happy just being a part of his fun world.

Monster Blog post

Wow things are finnaly slowing down and boy do I have some story's.  First thing to mention is John Henery has graduated from Mark's training school. He now has a home with a very nice couple on the beach. Latest update is he's getting spoiled and has wonderful walks on the sand (lucky dog)

image.jpg

I also lost chase training duty. Due to it being puppy season. I mentioned before that the owners are breeders. Its time for some new pups to enter the house. I'm sure I'll get to see my buddy chase down the road. Hopefully he won't forget everything. If he does I'll just start over with him if the time comes.

image.jpg

The new Mark's Pet Care venture I teased about is still happening. It's not time to talk about it yet. Once I can this blog will be the first placey I talk about it. Take this as tease #2.  😜

I'm still taking care of my favorite new puppy Jade. She's growing so fast.  She got a great new pink hoody that I love. If you know me you know I'm a big fan of the hoody sweatshirt/jackets. If you tell me you're putting your cute black pit bull in one I'm all in on that. 😄 Y

Speaking of that here is her getting a hold of mine.

Speaking of that here is her getting a hold of mine.

I've been currently taking care of my favorite new puppy crew. They hate to see me go. Bella the golden retriever knows the golden art of the cute face. She uses her powers every time I have to leave.

image.jpg

This was a rough week for me. I lost four clients due to moving. One was a hound with the most beautiful puppy eyes named Hildy.

As you can see she's sad she never got to say goodby.

As you can see she's sad she never got to say goodby.

The biggest loss is my buddy Rex and Andy. They'll have a special place with me. They also have great owners who I'm happy to call friends. While I'm very sad to see them go I completely understand. They're both retiring this year. With that they're ready for their next adventure. I'm very happy for them and hope they have lots of fun in Stockton.

As I said above. This hasn't been a great week for me. I found out my father is very sick in the hospital. I wish I could go visit him but he's up in Idaho. He has phenomena and a few other scary things going on. The rest of my family has come and gone over my life. My father on the other hand has always been there for me. Ether by phone or working his butt off to take care of two boys.  He's been supportive and proud of every decision I've made in creating this business.  He's my best friend and I know he's going to get through this because he's the strongest person I know.

So much stuff to do. So little time..

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. The big surprise I had didn't happen. Maybe it will in the future well see😐. I'm still working with the poodles. I've taught chase to sit stay and come. John Henry on the other hand hasn't gone as well. He's super sensitive to... Everything!!! With that I fined I lose control of him. What I mean by that is he starts to panic. Then he fights with me on the leash. He's going in for a surgery on Wednesday. Than he's moving to a new home on the beach. My thinking is this may be what's best for him. As his current living situation with all the dogs and people may be to much for him. I'll get updates once and awhile from the breeder. I still have my star pupal though. He's a very sweet boy and clearly wants to learn.

My buddy Zues has been getting into trouble lately in his new house. He misses his old puppy companion and has destroyed a couche to let us no that he's not happy.

He's lucky he's super cute

He's lucky he's super cute

I lost one of my longest clients last week. They where with me for over twenty years. They sold their place in Martinez. They plan to build a great new place in Nevada. I hope they do well out their. I'll miss their pups.

Thats about all that's going on right now. I'll post a new update soon.

I made it to the show!!

Anyone in my loop knows I don't do anything other than work eat sleep for the last twenty plus years. I've told my clients they can book me 24/7. With that I keep my life simple and don't go anywhere.... Ever! I've lived up to that promise from day one. I'm fine with it as I love my work. Oh and I love to eat and sleep!  I'm on a month plus of overnights right now and didn't think I would make this once in a life time show.  I spoke to the client I'm doing overnights for and asked them if I can get a little creative on how I did the overnight that day. They've been with me from day one and wanted me to have this night. With that out of the way. I was set for the show!!  Then once it's over I take Bart back home at midnight. Then have a midnight walk client. Followed by a trip back to to the deepest part of realize valley rd. Follow that with a five AM early morning start to a packed day. Honestly though it was worth the hoops I needed to jump through to make it work. The show was amazing!!  I was their with a bunch of other people approaching their 40's who like me grew up a Kids in the Hall fan. This may be the last time they do this and I was their. They came to the Bay Area about ten years ago and I new about it.  I could say I missed it because I was busy with work. While it's true I was busy.  I can also easily say it was an excuse. It's funny it doesn't take me long to see how awkward and uncomfortable I am going out to things like this. As I'm not a drinker or a partier. I'm the guy who goes to bed and 10 o'clock every night because I have to be up to see all the great animals in my life. It was nice though to be around people and feeling comfortable laughing.  Knowing these are people who like me get these guys and love their work. We all know the characters and cheer when they come out and crush are heads 😜 (kids in the hall reference). I was not going to let this one go by as it was more than likely my last chance. Does this mean things are changing and I'm going to try to start to do more things like this. Nope I love how I spend my days and can't get enough of it. So bring on your cuddly cats (Bella & Joplin) or your big goofy dogs (Zeus). I can't get enough of it =)

Hi everybody

i have a fun new client to talk about. I wasn't sure what I was walking in to Last week. Come to fined out it was a couple with five or six large poodles.  I was a little Intimidated by the situation. Then after some time with the client I found out what she needed from me. She wasn't going to ask me to take care of all these dogs (wipes brow). She had two Pup that she wanted me to work with. She's looking to sell them to a good home eventually. She's been doing poodle rescue for over thirty six years. Now in her later years she needs some help with pup stuff from time to time. At first I would walk her beautiful white pup named Chase. While I felt he mad allot of progress with me over the week. I started to see that something was wrong with the process we where doing. I quickly found out you don't  train show dogs the same way you would your regular every day dog. He didn't know sit, stay, or come. At first she didn't want me to teach him anything. Then things quickly changed and she understood if these dogs where going to be happy Normal home pups(not show dogs). They would have to learn simple commands. I say they because a few days in I was introduced to John Henry. He was big and beautiful as well. Like chase he had no training. Both are very young and very new to the world. With that they both have obstacles they need to overcome. I'm working with thier training two hours a week. Chase is learning Sit very fast. John Henry on the other hand is very scared of me and the world. I haven't tried to teach him anything yet. I'm just trying to get him to walk with out freaking out. The client has a great yard we just walk in circles in. He had his good and bad moments today. I think he'll be able to go outside for walks in give or take a week. He's going to be my main focus right now. Wish me luck 😉

Sorry I haven't posted lately. Some stuff came up that took my full undivided attention. I do have allot of stuff I'll be posting soon. Only thing going on this week is I lost two of my favorite kitty's.  They have a fun trip to Reno ahead of them in the next week. I hope they enjoy their big new home to lounge around in =)

Here's a little video I made of him a few days ago..
